‘Bad legal advice’ led Smoore to pursue patent case it was never going to win

A claim brought by Smoore Technology before the US International Trade Commission (ITC) alleging 38 cannabis companies had infringed the Chinese firm’s intellectual property (IP) rights had very little chance of success, according to patent law experts.

The ITC ruled in an initial determination that there had been no violations by several North American companies producing cannabinoid vaping products.
