Brazilian Senate committee considers bill to legalise e-cigarette market as use rises

A bill regulating the production and sale of e-cigarette devices will likely be voted on in committee in the Brazilian Senate this year.

The bill, introduced in 2023 by senator Soraya Thronicke of the centrist Podemos party, would reset the country’s stance on vaping products, the import and merchandising of which have been prohibited since a 2009 ban.
