Cole-Bishop amendment fails once again to ride in on US spending bill

Language changing the “grandfathering date” for vaping products has been dropped from the US Appropriations Bill.

The Cole-Bishop rider would have allowed any vaping product on the market in 2016 or earlier to continue to be sold in the US without undergoing the pre-market tobacco authorisation (PMTA) process.

But the amendment was dropped from proceedings as the US government hurries to pass a spending bill before another government shutdown.
