Czech Republic regulatory report

The Czech Republic incorporated the European Union Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) into its domestic legal system in 2017.

Product notification is free of charge.

No excise tax is levied on e-cigarettes.

Cross-border distance sales are allowed.

Fairly liberal norms on vaping in public places allow the use of e-cigarettes in catering establishments.

Non-nicotine products are treated almost the same as nicotine-containing e-cigarettes.

Point-of-sale advertising is considered legal.

An excise duty on heated tobacco products is to be introduced in early 2019.
