FDA squeeze means more bad press for e-cigs

The recent government crackdown on vaping products that appeal to young people has put e-cigarettes back in the national media spotlight – and not in a good way.

Recent actions by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), coupled with its stated intention of continuing with enforcement action for the foreseeable future, have provided plenty of headlines. Much press coverage has focused on teen use, particularly Juul Labs’ Juul product.

Juul has taken a large portion of the market, and it has been framed as the Pied Piper of e-cigs, supposedly luring teens to the products.
