EU tells Belgium it can’t make up all its own rules on HnB

Attempts by Belgium to impose new strict regulations on heated-tobacco products have run into problems with the European Union.

From 1st January 2020, heat-not-burn (HnB) devices will be added to a ban on online sales that already applies to e-cigarettes and HnB consumables.

However, Belgium has been told that some other aspects of the proposed new law are attempting to change regulation that can only be altered at EU level.
