First of US FDA’s court-ordered status reports on pending PMTAs expected

The first report on the status of US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) premarket tobacco product applications (PMTAs) is expected today, 29th April, following an order from a federal judge.

The report is the first in what will be an ongoing series of quarterly updates. This first report must state the percentage of PMTAs from specific companies that the FDA expects to have taken action on by June. The companies that must be covered include eight major names – Juul, Vuse, Njoy, Blu, Smok, Suorin, Puff Bar, and Logic – as well as others concerning products that account for at least 2% of total retail sales in the e-cigarette market.
