An online survey was carried out on U.S. e-cigarette consumers by ECigIntelligence between October 2016 and January 2017 in the U.S. The survey was carried out with support from consumer association CASAA (Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association) and a number of other associations and trade press.
In this November 2016 analysis we focused on stores which we believed to be dedicated to vaping, the traditional definition of a vape store. The directories to a large extent are populated with these stores, however we cleaned the data of stores which were clearly tobacconists or other non-specialist stores.
ECigIntelligence analyses the seven leading e-cig brands in mainstream U.S. retail, aiming to understand and explain the factors that have led to their success in these channels. How do the best-known brands fare, and how have the market leaders achieved their success?
