The National Commission against Addictions (CONADIC), the Pan American Health Organization (OPS), and the organisation Salud Justa have shown their concern over the new General Custom Duty Act
, press reports
. The organisations say that the Act does not prohibit the import of the third category of electronic cigarettes (known as “alternative systems of nicotine consumption”) and that it only prohibits the import of the other two categories of electronic cigarettes: “electronic devices of nicotine administration” (SEAN) and “similar devices without nicotine” (SSSN). According to the organisations, the bill would contradict the October 2021 presidential decree that prohibited the import of all electronic cigarettes.
