How can the UK combat a ‘misperception epidemic’ without promoting vaping?

Harm misperception continues to grow. New data presented last month by Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), the UK public health charity, shows a continued increase in the number of adults that think vaping is as or more harmful than smoking.

A full 50% of adult British smokers believe that vapes “are a lot more, more, or equally harmful as cigarettes”, the charity’s data showed up from 39% last year and 32% in 2022. This erroneous belief among adult smokers has grown steadily over the past ten years but has accelerated in the last two, ASH said.
