Ireland: e-cigarette regulation, May 2022

The Republic of Ireland regulated nicotine-containing e-cigarettes by transposing the EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) in 2016. Nicotine-free liquids are unaffected by the May 2016 regulations, being regulated as consumer products. The current government’s ongoing five-year plan includes the introduction of new rules addressing taxation, sales and advertising restrictions.
