Jordan: e-cigarette regulation, May 2023

The vaping sector was first regulated in 2019 with the standard “Basis for tobacco and nicotine products, including electronic ones”. This standard sets the rules for product restrictions, labelling, advertising and health warnings.

E-cigarettes are defined by this standard as “electronic devices and/or accessories powered by batteries that can be used to heat e-liquid for vaporisation, inhalation and exhalation through the mouth as a simulation of smoking and that are free of tobacco”.

This report offers a detailed analysis of the current regulatory framework in place in Jordan for e-cigarettes and related products, covering all policy areas.
