It is rather unlikely that any change in the regulation of e-cigarettes in Peru will take place before 2023. The government has not demonstrated any intention to put a regulatory framework into place, nor has the opposition, which has not introduced any bills to regulate e-cigarettes recently. However, taking into consideration that some of Peru’s neighbouring countries have been implementing such regulations and that the consumption of e-cigs is on the rise, it is expected that authorities will decide to introduce regulations, although it is uncertain when.
This report offers a detailed overview of the current regulatory framework in place for e-cigs and related products in Peru, covering all policy areas from taxation and notification to advertising, labelling and packaging, and retail channel restrictions.
