Pods are a new hardware category which aims to fill the gap in the U.S. market between the traditional products on offer. In this March 2017 report, we see that the key concept is to close the gap between easy-to-use products and high-performance ones: by improving the performance of lower-end products, and/or simplifying usability of high performing ones.

There is a divide in the category between higher power “pod mod” products with larger pre-filled pods, and lower power pods which offer extreme compactness. Pod hardware manufacturers are collaborating with well-known e-liquid manufacturers, with benefits for both sides.
