Regulatory report: Romania, April 2020

Although Romania transposed the EU TPD in 2016, regulation and restrictions around electronic cigarette products has slowly continued to develop, with rules concerning notification obligation in 2018 and new tax restrictions in 2020. This report provides an overview of the current regulatory framework within the country, looking at all aspects including – but not limited to – product restrictions, labelling and packaging requirements, and obligation to notify. In addition, possible future regulations are also included in the discussion.
