E-cigarette products containing nicotine are regulated under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 (TRPR), which came into force on 20th May 2016 in time to transpose the EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD). The government is committed to reviewing the TRPR by May 2021. This report provides a detailed overview of the current regulatory regime for e-cigarettes in the UK, covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and offering a comprehensive guide to all areas of law from notification and product restrictions to advertising laws, labelling and packaging and taxation.
