Reynolds in US launches nicotine-free flavoured vapes amid regulation vacuum

British American Tobacco (BAT) subsidiary Reynolds American has launched a new nicotine-free disposable vape that currently doesn’t need to obtain authorisation from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be marketed in the US.

The newly launched Sensa vapes are not made from tobacco and contain no nicotine, which means they do not fall under FDA authority. They are available in a total of six fruity flavours with appealing names, which has raised concerns over youth consumption, although Reynolds says the product is meant for adult use only.
