South Korea: e-cigarette regulation, September 2022

All products derived from tobacco leaves are considered as tobacco products in South Korea. Until 2024, when the next parliamentary elections are due, vapour products may be put under even stricter control and their taxes increased. Currently, there are more than 20 bills tackling e-cigarettes and vaping under consideration by parliament and while some are more or less similar, they all seek to further restrict the industry and to impose additional product requirements.
