Spain set to tax e-cigarettes and impose tobacco advertising and usage rules

The Spanish government is working on a regulation to impose further restrictions on e-cigarettes and place an excise duty on them to come into force by 2023.

The “Comprehensive Plan for the Prevention and Control of Smoking 2021-2025”, recently leaked to some media outlets, also proposes an increase in the number of smoke-free areas where the use of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco would also also be prohibited.
