Survey highlights rise in youth vaping in the UK, and social media’s influence

Vaping has increased among children in the UK over the past two years, partly due to illicit promotion of e-cigarettes on TikTok and other social media platforms, a recently published national study has found.

According to the survey, released in July by tobacco harm reduction charity Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), vaping among 11- to 17-year-olds in the UK has risen from 4% in 2020 to 7% in 2022.
