Synthetic nicotine variant sparks regulatory concerns across the EU

Marketed as an alternative to traditional nicotine, 6-methyl nicotine is drawing growing concern from public health authorities in countries across the European Union.

Also known as Metatine, this synthetic molecule, reportedly more addictive than tobacco-derived nicotine according to some studies, has quietly made its way into vaping products in Belgium, France and Sweden.
