Enforcement against illegal vaping products appears to be on the rise in the UK, but some worry whether minuscule penalties for non-compliance means that few bad actors will change their ways.
There have been around ten enforcement action reports captured by ECigIntelligence regulatory alert services since the start of November 2022. All Trading Standards (TS) offices in the UK operate regionally and are employed by local councils, meaning they are independent of one another, take different approaches and have different priorities, though they do use similar standards and guidelines.
