FDA and DOJ to launch multi-agency task force to combat illegal sale of e-cigs in US

Federal health regulators and law enforcement officials will be working more closely to crack down on the sale of illegal e-cigarettes in the US, including disposable vape products.

Last week, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it would launch a new task force to tackle this issue, in partnership with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and several other agencies including the US Postal Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The federal agency said additional agencies may join the task force in the coming weeks and months.
