Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) have tabled a set of proposals amending a recent draft report by the Special Committee on Beating Cancer (BECA), calling on the EU Commission to implement a flavour ban on all tobacco products – including e-cigarettes – while others want future regulation to take account of harm reduction.
A group of committee members from the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) propose including in Article 8 of the report a call for a ban on flavours in “new and emerging nicotine-containing products, especially electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS)”.
