Belgium places nicotine-free e-liquids under tobacco product regulations

Belgium has set new rules for nicotine-free e-liquids, equating them with tobacco products. It comes in the form of a royal decree issued by the Ministry of Health, amending a previous one from 2016, in which e-cigarettes with or without nicotine are defined as “similar” to tobacco products.

The decree says vaping should be discouraged and inducements to use e-cigs limited because “they may entail similar health risks and social consequences as tobacco products”.
