France votes to ban disposable vapes amid criticism of new anti-smoking plan

A new bill to ban disposable e-cigarettes is now awaiting a vote by France’s Senate. If it succeeds there, it would likely enter into force sometime next year as part of a newly launched anti-tobacco strategy – having already passed a National Assembly vote at the start of December.

The lower house of the French parliament unanimously approved the law, which followed closely on the heels of an anti-smoking plan already announced by the government in September that includes measures to counter minors’ access to both conventional and electronic cigarettes.
