US - Kentucky: According toÂ
local news, a Kentucky Circuit Court judge has dismissed a constitutional challenge to House Bill 11, which created a vape registry law in the state that will go into effect on 1st January 2025. The challenge was based on the argument that the title of the law is “An act relating to nicotine products” whereas it also regulates other substances, and it’s against constitutional law that a law relates to more than one subject. In his opinion, the judge wrote that the title “more than furnishes a clue to its contents and provides a general idea of the bill’s contents”. He also said: “The sale of nicotine and vapor products are highly regulated in every state, and the court will not question the specific reasons for the General Assembly’s decision to regulate and limit the sale of nicotine and vapor products to only products approved by the FDA [US Food and Drug Administration] or granted a safe-harbor certification by the FDA.”
