25th January 2024: Lebanon: Nassif Seklaoui, general manager of the Lebanese Tobacco and Tombacs Authority (RLTT), spoke during a conference against raising the taxation on tobacco products in Lebanon. Seklaoui said the calls to raise taxation surprised him, as the black market in Lebanon is one of the largest in the world and increasing taxes would only expand it, press reports. Decree 877/2015 legalised vaping products and subjected them to the tobacco regime.
