A recent report by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on e-cigarette sales and advertising has been roundly criticised for showing an outdated picture of the vaping market in the US, as it is based on sales and youth use data from 2015 to 2018.
Charles Gardner, executive director of the International Network of Nicotine Consumer Organizations (INNCO), told ECigIntelligence that the report was now “old news”.
“Both the tobacco industry and financial analysts who advise investors on that industry see sales data almost in real-time and analyse it in days,” he said.
