Royal Decree 579/2017, in force since 11th June 2017, is the main piece of legislation regulating the manufacture, presentation and sale of e-cigarettes by transposing the Tobacco Products Directive 2014/40/EU (TPD) into domestic Spanish legislation. Some of the autonomous communities regions have also moved to regulate e-cigarettes, or at least start the process of regulating them, whilst some others have declared against it.
