Regulatory report: Spain, March 2021

Royal Decree 579/2017, in force since 11th June 2017, is the main piece of legislation regulating the manufacture, presentation and sale of e-cigarettes by transposing the Tobacco Products Directive 2014/40/EU (TPD) into domestic Spanish legislation. Some of the autonomous communities regions have also moved to regulate e-cigarettes, or at least start the process of regulating them, whilst some others have declared against it.

This report provides an overview of the current regulatory framework in place for vaping products, covering both national and regional regulations.
