UK members of parliament (MPs) have found a rare opportunity to agree as they debate the role vaping could play in upcoming tobacco policy. However, concerns have grown about the rise in vaping among young people, and a report exploring this further is expected on 25th May.
The UK is currently reviewing the legislative framework and looking to propose a new tobacco control plan as part of its goal to be smoke-free by 2030. This has led to both main political parties coming together over the part vaping can play in achieving the goal, and agreeing that any new tobacco control framework should be constructed with that in mind.
