United Arab Emirates: e-cigarette regulation, January 2023

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) legalised the use and distribution of e-cigarettes in April 2019. The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MOIAT) issued a mandatory standard No. UAE.S 5030:2018 Electronic Nicotine Products (Equivalent to Traditional Tobacco Products), which regulates nicotine-containing and nicotine-free e-cigarettes, e-liquid refills with and without nicotine, heated tobacco and specifies requirements for production, import, retail and display.
