The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) plans to visit vapour manufacturers in an effort to better understand the development, manufacturing, and testing of electronic delivery nicotine systems, as it pushes forward in its regulation of the category.
It said that in 2020 its employees will tour “five or fewer” facilities that make vaping products and e-liquids, including pods and cartridges, and it is looking for facilities of “different sizes” to host these visits.
Specifically, it wants to examine facilities that can “demonstrate assembly process and present supply chain information, and laboratories that conduct ENDS aerosol and e-liquid testing”.
