Big Tobacco still laying out the road towards a promised smokeless future

Big Tobacco’s 2022 full-year results show that their collective commitment to transition away from combustible products is not just the companies blowing smoke.

Remarkable performances came from both British American Tobacco (BAT), which now expects its new category division to be profitable by 2024 – earlier than previously predicted – and from Philip Morris International (PMI), which appears to be on track to achieve its goal of becoming a primarily smoke-free company by 2025.
