Disposable vape bans could benefit the industry

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Disposable vape bans are not all bad news for the e-cigarette sector, say ECigIntelligence experts

Disposable vape bans in the UK and France have grabbed the headlines – and other countries are likely to follow.

Both countries have recently said they will prohibit the sale of disposable e-cigarettes in the near future, amid concerns about youth usage and the products’ environmental impact. Meanwhile, several other governments have discussed taking similar steps.

But restrictions on disposables are not necessarily bad news for the vape sector, according to industry watchers at ECigIntelligence, the leading provider of data and insight on e-cigarettes since 2014.

As well as addressing problems related to waste and under-age use, these measures should help to remove many low-quality products from the market and encourage consumer confidence.

They could also provide a boost to sales of other, more environmentally friendly e-cigarette formats.

And legislating now on disposables could remove the need for more stringent regulation later on, which might harm adult smokers trying to give up.

CEO Tim Phillips and editorial director Barnaby Page discuss these bans and what they mean for the e-cigarette industry in a new webinar, just released.
