Market and legal data for the vapour sector in Lithuania

13th January 2025: Lithuania: When commenting on the Belgium disposable e-cigarette ban, the chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on the Prevention of Addictions, Saulius Čaplinskas, said that banning or restricting e-cigarettes, both disposable and reusable, would be the right step, media reports. Additionally, according to Lina Šukytė-Korsakė, chairwoman of the Health Affairs Committee, tightening the trade in these products would be a priority issue for the committee. However, the Ministry of Health has specified that it is not currently considering any such restrictions yet.
13th January 2025: Lithuania: Following tobacco law compliance checks in December 2024, the Department of Drug, Tobacco, and Alcohol Control (NTAKD) has applied enforcement measures to 16 economic entities for various reasons: five associated with the ban on supplying flavoured e-cigarettes, one for incomplete product information, and ten for exceeding the permitted e-liquid volume.

Next, the proposal must await a final vote that will be held later.
3rd October 2024: Lithuania: Yesterday, 2nd October, the parliamentary Health Affairs Committee approved the amendment to tighten economic sanctions for selling tobacco and related products to under-age consumers, media reports. The proposal should next go to the plenary.
26th September 2024: Lithuania: The parliamentary Health Affairs Committee took a break from considering the amendment to tighten economic sanctions for the sale of tobacco and related products to under-age consumers, media reports. The amendment, which was submitted to the parliament in July, was proposed by the president. ECigIntelligence assumes the committee will decide on the amendment at a later date.
