Canada - Ontario: The Ministry of Finance, in the 2023 Ontario Economic Outlook and Fiscal Review, has expressed the intention of introducing a provincial vapour products tax. The report emphasises that taxation is a well-established method to deter the consumption of products that pose health risks. The ministry will disclose additional specifics on this tax in the coming months.

Canada - Ontario: France Gélinas, a member of the New Democratic Party, which is part of the minority coalition, tabled Bill 85 “Vaping is not for Kids”. The proposal aims to restrict the sale of vapour products to speciality vape stores, prohibit the promotion of e-cigarette products, and raise the minimum age for purchasing vaping products from 18 to 21.
