Germany is stepping up its fight against electronic waste with new regulations for disposable e-cigarettes, aiming to boost sustainability without resorting to an outright ban. The initiative targets the environmental impact of these products through stricter disposal methods and increased awareness of responsible consumption.
The Federal Cabinet has approved an amendment to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act, requiring retailers of disposable e-cigarettes – including kiosks and fuel stations – to set up collection points for proper disposal of these products. These retailers will also be tasked with informing customers about their return policies, promoting a culture of responsible disposal.
