Italy’s courts bring the gavel down on companies violating e-cigarette ad laws

Italian courts have ordered several companies to remove product marketing campaigns of tobacco alternatives. This comes in the wake of injunctions initiated by consumer protection associations on issues they say are endemic.

The companies ran afoul of several Italian regulations, including providing promotional discounts, advertising products as potentially providing reduced risk compared to smoking, and not mentioning that products contain nicotine and should be age-restricted.
