The UK’s vaping population continues to grow, new research confirms.
There are now almost half as many people in the UK who vape as there are who smoke traditional cigarettes, according to a survey carried out by the polling firm YouGov in collaboration with anti-smoking group Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) and King’s College London.
The survey found an estimated 3.2m e-cigarette users in the UK, compared to 7.4m smokers.
The figure for vapers, from fieldwork undertaken in February and March this year, suggests an increase on a year ago, when ECigIntelligence reported a UK vaping population of 2.8m. That 2017 figure, confirmed by the UK Office of National Statistics, was itself an increase of 12% since 2015.
