Aussie senator threatens to block new health laws until vaping is legalised

The Australian government is facing growing dissent on a number of fronts to its continuing ban on nicotine-containing e-cigarettes. And one federal senator has vowed to block all government health legislation until the ban is removed.

David Leyonhjelm intends to ensure all moves by health minister Greg Hunt are voted down in the Senate until he “drops his unscientific and callous opposition to e-cigarettes”.

“Of the 12 [potential deal-makers], I know at least four are willing to join me in this move, and another six will probably come on my side too,” Leyonhjelm told ECigIntelligence.
