Facebook has unveiled a new policy that limits content related to alcohol and tobacco, including e-cigarettes, in posts.
The new rules ban private sales and gifting of tobacco products in any Facebook group. The social media giant will also restrict vaping-related content from brands to adults aged 18 or older, so that minors are not shown it.
“We are updating our regulated goods policy to prohibit the sale of alcohol and tobacco products between private individuals on Facebook and Instagram,” a Facebook spokesperson confirmed to ECigIntelligence. Facebook acquired the photo-and-video-sharing social platform Instagram in 2012.
