Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador has signed a decree to prohibit “the circulation and sales of electronic nicotine delivery systems, electronic cigarettes and vapes”, the latest in a series of moves by the nation’s leader to limit the vaping market’s expansion in the country – leading to store closures and accusations of a “witch hunt” against e-cigarettes.
López Obrador held up a pink nicotine vape pen during a press conference on World No Tobacco Day when he signed the decree and said he was certain “the majority of mothers and fathers don’t know the damage these [devices] cause”.
