PMI and BAT come to terms, settle patent disputes on alternative tobacco products

Philip Morris International (PMI) and British American Tobacco (BAT) have agreed to resolve all patent infringement litigation between them related to their alternative tobacco products.

Under the non-monetary, worldwide settlement, which lasts for eight years from 1st February 2024, the companies have agreed to dismiss all pending patent infringement cases, according to their own statements and filings, and not to make future claims against each other’s current heated tobacco and vapour products.
