Regulatory report: China

Currently, the only effective legal frameworks that apply to e-cigarette products are those on general manufacturing and consumer products, meaning the vaping is not currently subject to specific product regulation. However, this could all be about to change, with a number of proposed changes currently in progress. The e-cigarette national standard project outlines a number of restrictions relating to product restrictions, advertising, labelling and packaging, age restrictions and public usage, which could be brought in in the near future.
