US flavour bans: analysis and current trends

August 2019 marked a big turn in flavour policy in the US. We saw many states in late 2019 trying to pass a flavour ban by executive order in the wake of the EVALI crisis, in a hurry to tackle what was widely considered an epidemic of vape-related lung injuries. While these moves were in general not very successful, they established a trend leading to the passing of a couple of state bills in 2020, and even a governor’s budget incorporating a flavour ban.

This special report details the e-cigarette flavour bans or restrictions in place in four US states, and analyses those under consideration at state level elsewhere across the nation.
