A revised draft of US president Joe Biden’s $1.75tn Build Back Better Bill, which includes a new federal tax on e-cigarettes, is expected to be voted on by the House of Representatives this week. The tax, if passed, will bring the tax on vapour products in close alignment with that on a pack of traditional cigarettes.
According to one member of the vapour industry – Paul Blair, vice-president of government affairs for Turning Point Brands: “This tax will incentivise smoking.”
