Dutch citizen petition for birthdate ban on tobacco sales not likely to become law

A petition for legislation to ban the sale of all nicotine-containing products to consumers born on or after 1st January 2012 was put forward. It gathered enough signatures (more than 40,000) to be put on the agenda of the House of Representatives for consideration, although that does not mean it will necessarily lead to any action. Acceptance by the government would still be required.
