The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has confirmed that a plan to ban menthol in combustible smoking products by the end of spring 2022 remains on track. Flavours for other tobacco products will almost certainly become the major topic once the ban goes through.
The premarket tobacco product approval (PMTA) process for e-cigarettes is currently seemingly working as a ban on flavours in vaping by proxy. But the FDA will almost certainly place greater emphasis on regulations regarding the use of flavours in other products now that cigarettes and cigars are out of the way.
