China’s new and tightened scrutiny on e-cigarettes will likely hurt domestic producers, experts say.

Beijing has recently announced a set of regulations that will tighten control on the vaping industry. From 1st May 2022, manufacturers will have to obtain licences for making and selling e-cigarettes, with packaging showing a warning of the harmful impacts of vaping. The rules will put a ban on any flavoured vaping products that have proven to be more popular than those without flavours, in an effort to reduce consumption among young people.
